SOUTH BRANCH

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENT:
In order to better serve our community the South Branch YMCA will reduce its services at John H. Marble Park facility. We will no longer offer fitness services or indoor sports beginning Wednesday September 15, 2010. We will continue to operate a full-service Summer Day Camp Program and Aquatics Program during the summer months. Outdoor sports and aquatic programs, such as swim lessons, flag football, SPLASH, swim team, and recreation swim will be available after September 15, 2010.

Going forward, we will continue to serve the community as the South Manatee YMCA. We are working hard to expand our youth sports program utilizing facilities of higher quality. We will be relocating our programs to other facilities in the area in order to provide better service. The specifics are forthcoming; please keep checking this website. The strategic plan of the Manatee County YMCA is to develop and operate a full facility YMCA branch that will better serve the needs of the south county residents and we are vigorously pursuing this objective.

For current YMCA members, your membership will be honored at all Manatee County locations at the current rate until September 15, 2011, where you will still receive free swim lessons and youth sports. You will also still be able to register for South County Y programs online, or at any other branch. You will still receive our program brochure. In all, I believe that these changes will improve programs and services we offer to the South County community.
